Differences in year and chassis

Differences in year and chassis
I have a 2004 Civic EX Sedan. I believed my chassis code was EM2 until my team mate the other night told me it was ES2. Was I wrong ?I tried looking this up, couldnt find anything. Im new to this site. My VIN# says ES2
