why do i get alot of smoke when i start the car

i have a 91 crx si w/a b16a. when i turned it on today. alot of smoke came out from the back. is this normal. or should i keep it running for a few mins. the car has not seen the streets yet. thanks for your help all

was it the first time you started it up, or is this a new problem in a car that you've been driving?

if it does it first thing in the morning and not on a restart its your valve guide seals. probibly hardened and worn out.

the first time you start it up it should smoke like mad for like 5 minutes. Then shut it off and drive it. HAVE FUN

thanks 89 crx si. heres the deal. it idels at 3k rpm, i have no idea to get it down. i have a 91 crx si w/b16a and a itr intake manifold. i am not sure if my freinds hooked up all the wiring right, is there a pic of this. so i can match it. thanks
