FYI, The external coil ignition only has 4 plug wires and 1 coil wire. So Yes you can keep your F22B2 distributor and coil setup and use it on the VTEC head.
If you want to keep it simple stick to the 94-97 F22B1 VTEC head. 98-01 are not the same. You might have a hard time trying to fit the 98-01 F23 VTEC head on your F22 block. Don't forget that your also going to need the VTEC ECU to replace the one you have now.
As for more power, What are your goals and most importantly what is your budget? It costs money for power. Don't bother wasting your money on a cam gear and fuel rail. Unless your just going for looks, the stock parts will work well enough. If your looking for more Hp on top of what you have listed a stage 2 camshaft wouldn't hurt the pocket book too much. With a stage two cam you don't need to go out and buy an entirely new valve train. But if you are looking to spend the money. Take a look at what Bisimoto has listed for your motor. multiple cams, valve springs, retainers and teflon rocker spacers to choose from. Warning a person could get himself into financial trouble rebuilding an engine...lol
