Another k00! jdm toy: PIVOT shift light (BIG GIANT HUGE PICS)...
Well most of my mods have involved keeping it subtle and innocuous... This latest one is no exception. I try to make most of my mods simple without hacking up the oem parts and this one fits me perfectly.
No splicing or anything is necessary: just plug into your cigarette lighter, use some double-sided foam tape so stick the control wherever you want, and some more tape to place the light wherever... I chose a spot right below and between the tach and speedo... The instructions suggest somewhere around the top of the steering column... The controls basically adjust brightness and where in the rpm band you want the light to come on. Drive around and if it comes on at say 8k rpms and you want it higher, just turn the dial a little bit. Takes a few minutes of redlining to get it set perfectly, but after that I got it to be at 8550 - right before the rev limiter kicks in. It apparently gets power and rpm signal from the cigarette lighter. So this is as plug and play as it gets.
Here's the pics:

Thanks to Kengs for yet another toy to play with.
Leo (ITRinEJ) can tell you where to pick these up at.

These item been selling in most Asian Malls with Autopart stores (mostly cosmetics items like AutoFreak) around $99.00.
Nice Ken,
What color is the light when it turns on? How bright is it day/night? Can you notice it well in the day time?
This is the one I am favoring right now kinda Rally/F-1 style:
If that didn't work then heres the link: http://www.t-sport.com/rev.html
I found it awhile back but, almost forgot about it till now.
Have a good day guys,,,

somen needs to clean up their wiring. For us habitual speeders with a radar detector there can you hardwire it in?
It's pretty hard to have a shiftlight aimed right at your eyes unles you have a huge tach...but then you will sacrifice a little visible sight at the corner of the windshield and also you'll be called rice.
I like that T-Sport Revlite; anyone know any US websites/companies that carry it?
On a side note Chris has one of these...he thought that the lights weren't bright enough, so he replaced the LEDs with brighter ones, and he promptly managed to burn out the LED driver.

nice t0y
first off, the brightness can be adjusted with that silver box as shown in the 2nd pic. and you can set it so that it is MORE than bright enough to see during the daytime. i dont believe this is available in the states yet, just came out about 1-2 months ago, but i could be wrong!!
as for hardwiring, i dont think you'd really want to go thru all that trouble when there are other more "easier" alternatives
here is mine, which is the larger version:
yea yea i know its messy but so is the rest of my car so what gives??
i have the pivot lamps in stock, like the one ken is showing
please IM me for pricing info.

I had the one that was JUST posted, got it from Landspeed. That thing ROCKED,never had a problem with it.Too bad i traded the car in with that still in it
How does this get the tach signal off the cig lighter (thats like impossible btw...) It must somehow sense the pulses near the tach or something...normally you need to tap the blue white tach test wire.

Hmm.....would that light fit in the sun visor??

And, does anyone know if it can be hardwired? I presume it would be possible.

This Pivot light thing sounds kinda flaky in terms of where it gets the tacho signal, though I've seen a few products like it. How difficult is it to pull the cluster out and tap one wire? Why would anyone want to hang a wire across their dash for a shift light?? Kinda fugly isn't it?
I bought a Rev-Lite recently (product review here: http://www.superhonda.com/forum/show...threadid=48717 )
I'm very happy with it. Rev-lite.com is the the place to get it, shipping is fairly quick even though it's from Australia.

Those look a little too messy for me, I prefer the "clean" install look.. can you find the shift light in this pic?
