Default HELP!! Fitting 5th Gen Civic Front Seats Into 89 HB

Hey guys I've recently acquired a set of front Civic 95 ex seats. After trying to fit the seats, I realized there is no way unless I swap the rails. How do I swap the rails? Do I yank them off and drill in my old civic ones in the new seats? How do you guys do this? Thanks!

You can do it but it will take a while. Seet rails are way off on the outside end about 4' off. If you loo at the EG brakets you will see how to get the sliders off and drill through a few weld that will leave you a mounting surface. you need to take 2 pieces or angle the widthe of the seat front and back drill and bolt these to the seat and the old 4G brackets, now to compensate for the different hieght between the floor mounts and the seat get a 1"x1" sqaur tube and bolt through your new angle brackets and to the uotside seat slider. Align and drill so it fits. your seats will sit level and have full range of motion on the sliders. It takes more to put 5G seats in a 4G than drilling a couple holes. and to do it safely. Don't be tempted to drill through the floorpan. its double wall and you won't have the strength of youever got in an acccident. I have 95 EX seats in my '89 hatch (DX) and I have the matching 95 EX rear seat also mounted in my car.

Thats crazy, I tried to put my EG Si seets into my crx.... The seat physically sits so much higher. You would have to drive like a striaght up G, or you will have a bad case of taco neck.

Maybe the hatch is roomier, not worth it in my opinion.

that all depend on your brackets, my 5G seats are no higher than the original 4G ones were. But then we have 4G Hatches. never saw how the CRX seats mount. I was real careful when I made my adapters. you can make them sit higher so some of these verticly calleged people can see over the dash, but thank god I'm not one of them. ANd OH, I have compared to other 4G hatches too. so its not my imagination either. It is no higher than the original seats. Its all on your fabrication skills and how well you take the time to look how everything needs to fit. I don't have the Si seats think they were from a 95 EX hatch. wasn't a lot left of it when I got my seats.
