Default Self-Install of Honda XM Radio Kit in 08 Si?

Anyone self-installed the Honda XM radio kit that integrates into an 08 Si Sedan? No interest in using a portable kit, but wondering if it is worth doing the install of the dealer option. Thanks.

when you get it as a dealer option it comes installed. (well, a trial version) you just call up xm and they activate a paying membership. its integrated into the regular radio.

Let me rephrase this...

As XM is not standard on 08 civic models, has anyone self-installed the Honda XM Radio kit? There is nothing integrated already on the 08 civic, it requires dealer or self-installation.

I assume you are talking about items 006 through 010 here?

I don't know of anyone who has done it, but I think I would either let the dealer do it or get an aftermarket kit. My dad's civic has the XM kit installed and where the antenna is, they had to run the wire under the headliner and drill a hole in the roof. That's 2 things I definitely would not want to do.

its fairly easy to install, you wont need any special tools, if you decide to do it ask for the dealer to print you instuctions, probably will take between 2-3hrs if you have some mech expiereance. if you cant get directions pm me
