new things theives are doing...
i was out cleaning my car and my friend called me and told me this and to be sure i checked up on it on a few sites and with the police in my area and they said it was really happening....just thought i'd warn all the honda owners and others of course!!!!

Warning....!!!!
Just last weekend on Friday night we parked in a public parking area. As we drove away I noticed a sticker on the rear window of the car. When I took it off after I got home, it was a receipt for gas. Luckily my friend told me not to stop as it could be someone waiting for me to get out of the car.
Then we received this email yesterday
'WARNING FROM POLICE
BEWARE OF PAPER ON THE BACK WINDOW OF YOUR VEHICLE--NEW WAY TO DO CARJACKINGS (NOT A JOKE)'
Heads up everyone! Please, keep this circulating... You walk across the parking lot, unlock your car and get inside. You start the engine and shift into Reverse. When you look into the rearview mirror to back out of your parking space, you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window. So, you shift into Park, unlock your doors, and jump out of your car to remove that paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view. When you reach the back of your car, that is when the carjackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off.
They practically mow you down as they speed off in your car
And guess what, ladies? I bet your purse is still in the car. So now the carjacker has your car, your home address, your money, and your keys.
Your home and your whole identity are now compromised!
BEWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED
If you see a piece of paper stuck to your back window, just drive away. Remove the paper later. And be thankful that you read this e-mail. I hope you will forward this to friends and family, especially to women.
A purse contains all kinds of personal information and identification documents, and you certainly do NOT want this to fall into the wrong hands

sneaky freak'n bastards...no car is safe anymore...people spend all this money on alarms and its all compromised by a peice of freak'n paper in your window...thanx for the heads up
not a problem i know that i'm paranoid about my car when i can't see it or if i'm away from it for awhile, i would never get out and leave my car running lol.
i dont think i would be worried about a piece of paper on my window. knowing the kind of thieves that want my car, they would plot a little better than trying to bum rush me, they would need some brass ***** or a 12 gauge. thats like kamikaze style. ill still bet on keeping my car safe when im NOT around it.

Car alarms are useless, they get disarmed in like 1sec from what I hear, this is what a guy I met who had just got out of prison told me that all you need to do to disarm a cars alarm system is pop there hood, get jumper cables hook them up and touch the other car, it will send a circuit frying the alarm system. Idk if it actually works this is just what he told me. Having a kill switch is also good as long as you wire everything next to your ECU that way its harder for them to find out which cable it is and snip it. Just a few tips I thought I'd share with you guys!

This really fry the alarm? If so.. wouldn't it also fry things that you would need to actually start the car? Maybe they tow it and just use this method to disable the alarm?

I dont know to be honest. The guy was telling it wasnt worth buying a $500.00 alarm when it takes a couple of sec. to disarm. I do have a friend whos Integra got jacked, she works at the mall right well her car was parked outside she had just got a brand new GReddy Turbo and these guys actually towed the car. So I wouldnt be surprised if there starting to tow cars now.

Those thieves need to get hit hard and have some sense knocked into them. They should all go to jail for along time. Alarms are alright but you gotta have the ones where they tell you that your car is open or something so you know for sure. Can't trust tow trucks anymore. Whenever i see a tow truck now i get a sense they are out to steal my car or another honda lol. Should watch out though, never park your car for long periods of time anywhere mostly.
