Couple of questions for you Teg gurus...
I just picked up a 95 milano red GSR last week. The car has high hiway mileage (150k) but it still pulls as hard as my friend's 2000 GSR with 20k miles. Anyway, I've noticed that it smokes a little when revved to 7k and up, and sometimes a little puff comes out betweens shifts at high RPM's. I am guessing that valve seals could be the cause of this problem? I'm going to do a compression test this week, but I don't think it would be the rings since the motor still runs VERY strong. I realize that the mileage is high and some smoke would be normal, but I really can't afford a complete rebuild right now. What do you guys think?
Also, I have a squeaking belt/pulley issue I'd like to take care of ASAP... it sounded like the power steering belt was stretched out so I replaced it, no dice. I tracked the squeak to the belt directly below the p/s belt. I believe it's the AC belt. I tried spraying some silicone spray on it, which temporarily takes care of the problem; however, the squeak/squeal comes back within minutes. Is there a tensioner for this belt, and how do I get at it? If the belt is fine, what should I do about the noisy pulley? Thanks for your time.

Mabye because he always wanted a GSR?? Or mabye because its a honda and they last forever as is........ either way its a descent buy if the price is right.
Why did I buy it? The price! I only paid a little more than 5k for it... not bad for a GSR. I have always liked Integras but just couldn't stomach buying an LS or something with the B18B. I realize that i could turbo the LS motor, but $$ is not something I'm made of right now. I just want a good daily driver...I don't even know if I'm going to bother with I/H/E; I'm more hung up on suspension/handling. Anyway, an answer to my questions would be nice...

above 200 in all four pistons is desirable but with the milage factor invovled it could be a lil lower, also you'd want the pistons with in 10 psi of eachother. either way if you go all out on performance might as well save up for a rebuild... but you seem to describe it as a strong motor. goodluck.
You couldn't stomach buying an LS or anything with a B18B? If you're GSR has 150,000 miles on it, I guarantee you that an LS with around 30,000 miles on it will kill you.
You can guarantee that? I'll bring it to the track this Wednesday and I'll post some timeslips... let's just say it stays right beside my friends 2001 VW GTI VR6, +/- a car length. If your LS can do that, well my friend, you have one hell of a strong B18B under that hood!
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against any RS/GS/LS/SE... I'm just not planning on doing any mods to the engine and I figured that I wouldn't be happy with an LS... I just sold a 240sx which has plenty more torque (even thought it's about the same as the LS in the 1/4 mile), and I really wasn't happy with it. I realize that there is a 32 ft/lb difference between my GSR and the 240, but the GSR has great top end... something the 240 and the LS don't have enough of. I know that you probably think that a GSR with 150k must be a piece of ****... but you'd really be surprised at mine. The exterior is near mint, the interior is almost perfect... and the car had 1 owner, who was female... I don't think that car ever saw VTEC.

My car done the exact same thing, so i done a comp test and everything was fine on all 4 cylinders so i left the car into a shop to get the valve seals replaced and it turned out it was the rings, but my car pulled very strong aswell..i'd say leave it into a shop to get the seals done and if they look ok then get them do the rings, chances are both may need doing at 150k.

if that gsr was well taken care of, you are absolutely wrong.
if you wanted a good daily driver and you don't think you want I/h/e, why a gs-r with 150k? U could have found a LS (b18b) for a lot cheaper and lower mileage. I didn't get a gs-r to get a newer and lower mileage LS.
Because stock for stock, the GSR is faster... I almost bought a friend's 95 SE from him for 4500 but I found the GSR more desirable. I don't care about the mileage. Everything on this car was done on time and they provided the service records to prove it. After driving another friend's 2000 GSR, I was hooked and he had me convinced that I needed one... SO...
