Default AEM v2 CAI

So I am going to purchase one of these in the near future. I have been doing some research on them and people are claiming gains of 18HP with this intake. Is that legit? To me I think if your lucky at best you will get 10HP with an intake. Does anyone know if this is true? Also just wondering if anyone has any other suggestions for a CAI for my car. One that would possibly be better than the v2. Thanks in advance!

You will get many conflicting responses on this, but my experience is with (K&N), and the only difference is the increased cabin noise. It sounds like it should add to performance, but I doubt you get even 5 more hp. If you do it for the look and are happy with it, then go for it. Don expect any gains in hp or mpg, it just isn't there.

Their marketing is superb.

So basically they are falsely advertising the dyno graph which shows they make a 10.9 hp gain, on their website? There is a guy over on v6p.net who made 219.9whp on 87 octane with just a v2. The 6 speed transmission takes 17% of the HP the 240bhp engine makes, do the math.

I'm sure there's some fine-print/loophole that says they don't guaranty these results for your car.

And I'm sure the only intake only 7th gen v6 I know of has a factory freak engine.
