Default Finally installed my Phillips HID 4300K kit today...............

I got the kit from Trevor, excellent customer service!!
All I can say is AWESOME!!!!!!!!! Wow what a difference they are to halogens. I have 2 questions though.........

-Is it normal when the ballasts makes a low high-pitched buzzing noise?
-Looks like my right headlight is a bit higher than the left, how do I adjust it?

Thanks.

Mine makes that buzzing noise. Right should be higher than left, because we drive on the right side of the road, thus left light is lower to prevent blinding.

No trouble at all, it took me about 45 mins to install because when I first put the bulb in the burner it took me a few mins to get it in there. You have to push down and turn at the same time. Its was tricky, but I got it in there. The second bulb was a snap.

It took me a while to figure out where to mount the drivers side ballast. On Trevor's site he mounted it above the wheel well, but I have my alarm siren on there.

I have pics, but can someone host them for me?

Thanks.

When facing a flat wall, the cutoff beam pattern should look like this:

_________o-------------___________o--------------

The cutoff of each light has 2 different levels. I think the Helms specifies the upper (right hand side) of each beam pattern is supposed to be the same height above the ground as the center of the headlight housing, but when I did that on my car it made the bubble level WAY off (yes I was on level ground), so I just set my cutoffs to angle a bit below the height of the headlight housings.

Thats a cool lil pic there. Thats exactly how mine are.

I'll show pics of where I mounted the ballasts, the pics will be kinda small as I took the pics w/ my new Sony Clie. (awesome PDA) My regular digi cam broke.

I'll send them to hungster tonight when i get home from work.

Ahhh, it Sounds like you got the real thing.

You gotta hear it when 4 Philips HID ballasts turn on at the same time. I love that humming noise. It sounds like a swarm of 10,000 killer bees are about to Attack!

Josh: Do you still have the pictures of your 9005 Hids on where you mounted your ballast? I have the 9005 HIDs as well, but I'm confused on where to mount the Ballasts! I have no room for my 9005 Hids!

STC: That was the HARDEST part for me as well! I'll take some pictures of where I've mounted them, because of the common problem that we both have and thats the alarm.

Yeah, I got the high-pitched low volume noise as well, its suppose to be there. I love my HIDs, and Trev does have great customer service. My light pattern is like that as well. Oh, to the one that asked, you CAN adjust your lights' level, both horizontal and vertical, just look in the little manual in glovebox if you've got it. But there are two 'screws' to turn, one for vert, one for horiz, you just turn until you like the where the pattern is. You can always follow the levels on the light housings though, they are sometimes off a little just adjust at night time. For the vertical positioning(which is all I adjusted), I believe that clockwise is up, ccw is down, for both sides, but you'll be able to tell. Enjoy,

Actually this is somewhat normal for the 4300k set of bulbs. I have the same one's. The "bluish" look is cool and all, however there are some people out there who have been getting pulled over (by cops) for thier aftermarket bulbs. (Blue is reserved for cops...blah blah blah). I can't see why they would pull people over IMO, however I like the 4300k better anyway because they are brighter white light...(even though I do like the blue look).

It looks like this in the "light specrum" for HID's

Yellow<----------4300k-white-------------blue--6000k---------7000k---purple-->8000k

Hope that helps...basically the lower the number, the more yellow...a little higher, white....and higher, blue.....and still higher, purple.

Thanks hungsteR. The pics are crappy cause I was using my new Sony Clie. Sweet PDA My other digi cam broke.

The pics are of the drivers side ballast. As you can see I wedged the ballast between my alarm siren and the reservoir. It fit pretty good too, but I still velcro'd it in there. I put it upside down because I was afraid of water getting in there. The passanger side ballast is mounted on the ABS unit.

When I get a new digi cam I'll post pics of the lights on.
