I know they are infamous for that but:

Can that get chronic to the point where it causes "pop out?"

did they ever recall this?

mine is the second gear grind and reverse grind no third gear, but i am scared too

 

I've got an '05, my reverse doesn't grind unless I'm going into it from Neutral. My mechanic told me to always go into First and then Reverse on a Honda, and it's always been smooth. Does it grind when you go into First and then Reverse?

 

if you are going into reverse, make sure the car is stopped... but if 3rd grinds, thats cause ur as keeps miss shifting LOLz

 

I've read that too (1st > reverse lines of the gear since Reverse lacks a synchro), I pick the car up next week so we'll see.

i work at honda and we have a lot of recalls about the 6 speed transmission with third gear popping out, we have to replace the whole third gear, check with your dealer and find out what they can do. just some FYI since they wont go around telling people that they have a faulty transmission.
