Default 00 FBP Integra Type-R #1057 Stolen in San Diego, CA

Hi all!
Im a newbie to this forum residing. I recently just purchased a 00 ITR on 6/8/08. So I have had the car for about a good 3 weeks. I loved every second of it.

Yesterday my dad asked to use my car to for the day while I was at work.
So i agreed and the plan was that I would let him drive the car home, pick me up in the morning and take me to work. After that he would go do his arrends and pick me up from work.

Well this morning we did not get that far in our agenda. At 530am this morning I wake up to a phone call saying "Son, your car is gone"

The love of my life stolen from me. Within 3 weeks of just getting to know her . Oh yea did I forget to mention this is my 1st car I have ever had in my life

Also just 1 week before I would have made an appointment with wrx-killer-Sti-eater for the Full Stealth installment.

Well its in the hands of the SDPD and my insurance. So thank you for letting me vent. I think this forum rocks and is very informative imo.

Feel Free to post ur comments cya

I'm so sorry...I can't imagine losing your car so quickly after getting her. Having an R in California must be a nightmare...
Best of luck with the recovery/replacement/rebuild process...whatever may come. Stick around...even if you don't have the R anymore.

did you know about the theft involved with owning an ITR before buying? did you take the necessary steps/precautions in regards to securing it at all times? can you say that you "trust" ALL the folks whom you allowed to get close to your car in the last 3 weeks? i noticed you mentioning that this was your very first car ever...you are(was) lucky to have as your first car one of the best ever built in this hobby.

all those questions i asked are everyday questions for most R owners, even me going into 8 years of ownership. once you let your guard down, even for a moment, its OVER.

your situation is unfortunate and a very sour wake-up call into ITR ownership. hope they find your car.

If you do plan on getting a new R, I do hope you take better care of it.

Sorry for your loss. This will never end. Seriously though, after only 3 weeks you lost one....exactly what have you learned to prevent another R from getting ruined? More than likely the thieves who grabbed your R will be on the lookout for what you replace it with....if it's another R you can bet it won't take 3 weeks. I'm just curious.

I'm sorry for your loss. Remember to use the search feature on advice when dealing with insurance payouts- I hope they give you what you deserve. If you plan on getting an R replacement, I think a daily(or a at least cheap car your family can borrow when in need) needs to be a first purchase. Second, Desmon)wrx-eater-sti-killer is a great idea. Next time have the money set aside so that the install can literally be installed the day/next day after your purchase your new R. Now the car was taken from your parents correct? Do you live with your parents? (I'm assuming you do since this is your first car) Will it be garaged? If the answer is no, then I'm sorry, but you shouldn't waste your efforts or insurance on another R.

Wow, so [freak]ing sad.

Even if you made an appointment with Desmon about the alarm. he wouldn't even finish it in time.

It's been almost 10 months and mine still isn't done yet.
He must be super busy, but it's hard to reach him.
I guess I can't blame the guy.

Please dont . 3 weeks ? father borrowed it ?!?

Your nuts , and shouldnt have an ITR as a FIRST car anyways , it isnt a car for a Beginner , its a car for a DRIVER .Not a car to be " borrowed" for the day , not even by pops .

FWIW,. i dont trust my parents with my keys to the R

Besides that , i am TRULY sorry that this happend ,
But you were OBVIOUSLY careless ,
Either way
Good luck with the find , and maybe try an Evo , at least you can park it places
( mall, movies , HOME , wherever )

PS i bet they saw pops driving it and KNEW he wouldnt have an IDEA how they were following him the whole time .

Its crap that this happends , and good luck again

Sorry to hear about another R statistic. I bet your dad feels bad, too. These freaking thieves are relentless bastards.

Really, this car demands the right attention from the owner even more than it attracts the wrong attention from thieves.
