Default Compression test 92 civic 180 160 160 180?

I think those were the numbers. What are the suppost to read for a complete stock engine? Like what does honda say when the car is first made. is this good or bad.

x2 the max I believe in the haynes manual should be 270 but like hotrod said there can be a difference of up to 28 psi per cylinder is acceptable.

Yeah 270 seems high as **** for a completely stock motor.

I guess over the corse of 16 years and 93k miles the compression has lowered.

Im just asking this question because My car was overheating like crazy during idle sometimes but never on the highway. I have changed the thermo, cap....just recently changed the timing belt and waterpump and everything has been fine so far just wanted any heads up because people were saying it could be the head gasket.

Now the guy who did my timing belt said everything should be fine, but I plan on having this car for a loong time.

As long as my motor isn't low then I don't really care. I just dont see how there would be a 50-psi variation like that. My CR is already pretty high.
