Default Custome Crx Rear Cross Memebr Needed

Ok well this is the issue. Im having issues with bending rear cross members so bad in my crx that it will pull my shift linkage out of the rubber boot that hold the linkage up. This is the second one in two trips to the track. The car has Hasport Motor mounts with the hardest rubber they offer for drag racing and Full Race front cross memeber. The car makes crazey torque and that not really helping. What are some idea that will eliminate this issue. I really cant wait for some ideas i'm ready to kill the car.

you need to build a front engine mount for the car. the three mount setup is what kills the rear crossmembers on efs with a lot of torque.

Have you thought about dropping the subframe and stitch welding and reinforcing it?

then you need at least 4, maybe 5 engine mounts. the single rear mount wont cut it. trust me, i speak from experience.

Make a mount off your traction bar, that's the easiest solution. You could also "upgrade" your mounts to solid aluminium inserts which HASport offers (we have them in our turbo B16 CRX).

solid aluminum works. the solid front mounts ive used are from traction bar or tow hookarea to former ac compressor bolt holes or to transmission works very well.

here are some examples i've seen on honda-tech that i liked so much that i saved them to my hard drive to serve as inspiration.

i want to make it abundantly clear that I am not taking credit for any of this.

Those first three were made by tony palo. the last is obvious enough.

i'd suspect with either of those setups the engine isn't torquing fvcking anywhere.

also, if tony or nrg tech would like me to remove these pics, suck my *****. you shouldn't have put them on the interweb if you didn't want people to learn from them.

When all else fails, hillbilly engineering prevails.
Just keep adding more metal until it's strong enough. Beef up the cross member, and reinforce anything connecting to it. Brace the hell out of the engine.
