Default b18b with a noise coming from camshaft area.

Well long story short. I did a head swap and then resulted in putting it back to stock. My ls head was only off a couple days. Then i had my friend at his shop put it back together. And now when i cold start it. You can here a some what of a cam knocking. What can i do to fix this?i am not sure if you can still here it when its warmed up. I just forgot to listen the last 50 or so times i said i would. So can anyone help me out?

are you sure its coming from the head,do you have aftermarket pistons or injectors?

well i am pretty sure. not 100% but i am pretty sure. cause it makes a thump noise and sounds like its being rotated. COMPLETELY stock motor.

is it a tapping noise or more like a loud knocking noise?

like a THUMP. like think of doing a flip and landing on ur back. thump over and over again. its not rod knock. i knwo that.

did you have your head milled before you put it on?...the pistons could be hitting the valves

ya it was milled. but i dont think so. wouldnt that make it loud ticking? not thumping. and its only on cold start. like. i think when its warmed up then its good.
