I'm going to be coming up to the city on July 12th to go to a punk rock show (Hot Water Music for those interested). The show is at Terminal 5 in Manhattan, so obviously the closer the better. It will be myself and Ketone (Brad) and all we need is a couch/floor/whatever to crash on just for Saturday night.

If anyone has extra space they would be willing to share, it would be much appreciated!

 

if i was closer to the city I would say sure. but Im a bit of a drive north and it sucks driving that far after a late night show.

who else is playing? I like HWM's old stuff a lot but havent kept up with their recent stuff.

well they had officially disbanded in 2006. they played 2 reunion shows earlier this year and are playing a few more. i saw them in NJ in feb and they played a wide range of stuff from their whole catalogue. IMO Caution is their best album to date. Brian McTernan (producer) perfected the HWM sound with Caution. Not nearly as raw in terms of production, but still all of the familiar HWM rock.

 

I'd gladly offer you a place to say at my place, but i am approx 1.5 hours outside teh city, and not exactly on your way to or from teh show unfortunately. More west than i am sure you want to travel. Have a great time at the show though bro

thank you sir. i've got a friend in queens that has limited space, but it might be a good fallback option.

 

Too bad i gave up my apartment in Brooklyn... It was about 20mins from the city.

 

Lemme see if I'm away that weekend. I'm 15 minutes out of Manhattan

 

****, I never even knew HWM was still playing! Forever and counting and Fuel for the Hate game were two of my favorite albums of all time.

I bought the Draft album and have been loving that as well! I feel that the Draft was a very logical progression for them, and it just goes to show you how much a high fidelity recording makes or breaks an album. I'd always wondered what HWM would sound like if they put a little budget behind their albums, and the Draft didn't dissapoint.

HWM is probably one of two bands I wish I saw live. The other being Lifetime.
