Default crx tranny on hatch?

my friend is buying an 88 hatch with a 4 spd in it. i know the deal with the different spline count on 88 as to the 89-91. but if he gets a tranny from a rex 89-91, i have a spare clutch from a 89 Si, would all of this work on the 88 hatch. and would we use the 88 axels with the newer tranny?thanks

Yes! it will work........you'll have no problems, everything bolts on.

He might need a flywheel though b/c I think the one in the 4spds are smaller.

later,
L.

i think that the flywheel sizes are year dependent, rather than by model... i have a '91 standard 4 speed with the bigger (212 mm? i forget) flywheel.
