Awe yes, riding beyond one's headlights.
If you are traveling at 60mph, you are covering 88 feet per second. Let's say your headlights throw light 250 feet in front of you, at 60mph you only have 2.8 seconds of vision. They recommend a 3 second following distance to allow for reaction and such, so the 2.8 seconds is probably good. At 90mph you are traveling 132 feet per second... giving you roughly 1.8 seconds of vision.
No matter what way you slice it, that coyote got messed up.

No pun intended right?
Someone had to say it.
Honestly though who drives 90mph in a place where you can't see in front of you. Granted we don't know the exact circumstances about which this happened but still one can assume it was at night seeing as how he said he didn't even see what he it. IF it wasn't at night then I retract my statement about driving recklessly and give him hella props for keeping it upright even though had he layed it down the bike probably wouldn't have faired much worse.

Not to be a d*** or make it sound like I ride recklessly at night but it is very easy to see at night, especially on a straighter road. Day, night, dusk, dawn an animal can dart out in front of you and you are no better prepared at any time. If anything at night I can see the coyote's eyes at shining off my headlights which I can't see during the day.
Thats a lot of damage, the bike isnt totaled?
