Default stick to tig?

Anyone convert a stick welder to tig??
I do some search but I want feed back of that.
I plan to do that on my friend 225 lincoln but the minimal amp is 40 so I think it will be to high to weld 1/16 material.

its do able... but.... you will have a wandering arc.... tig machines are made for just that, tig welding...

you convert an arc welder, you lose some of the tig machine features..

but it will work... and you might be able to produce some good welds...

i did that with my 80 amp DC box. thats actually how i started. you just need to scratch start. and you wont have variable current. i dont think you will have a wandering arc. i dont know if this will work if you have an AC only machine. you should also get a torch with a valve at the torch body.
