Default ALL MOTOR B16 build

Well i decided to put out the money and finally build one. I would like to tell you all my set up and maybe get some feedback from some of you experienced builders. RIP to a B17 i put together, it took about 4 months and i spun a rod bearing after 500 miles. The b17 had some machine work done to the crank and block that just so happened to be the reason behind the failure, also cheap parts. Well needless to say it was a expensive learning experience.
Anyway I am now 90% done with the b16 NA, so feel free to give input.

MODS:
B16 BLOCK AND CRANK- b16 crank just micro polished and balanced. Block will be bored .002 over and line honed. Gsr girdle and APR main studs. Calico rod and main bearings. Manley forged rods and JE 12.5:1 forged pistons.

I am kinda nervous about running that high of compression, but here is salt lake city the elevation is 4200 feet. I plan on having the motor dyno tuned so i am not too worried.

B16 HEAD- I am using a b16 head that is at the machine shop getting a full port and polish. I am running a full skunk2 pro series stage 2 valve train package witch includes cams, gears, flat valves, springs, Ti retainers. ARP head studs, stock head gasket.

Tuner is the famous Cortney Green and he is going to be using neptune.

GSR tranny with 4.4 and a b16 first gear. I am looking for a b16 tranny if anyone would like to trade.....

3" cold air, port and polished ls throttle body by MAXBORE.com

DC 4-1 header and greddy cat back. Also looking for a better header if anyone has one for sale...

well the only thing i have not yet addressed is lost motion, witch i have a set of gsr and b16. Still not sure if itr are better. I have heard they are no better than gsr. I also am waiting to get a price and availability on a set from endyn.
next is fuel, I think a dyno tune should take care of that but not sure. I am looking into some injectors, I am open to suggestions.

so that's it for now let me know what you think.

Default Re: ALL MOTOR B16 build (civhx)

i think ill be the first to say it... SEARCH...

most of your questions are pretty simple and u coulda knocked them out in a half hour if u used the search, and maybe even answered some questions u havent even asked yet...

anyway, so u r running 12.5:1 comp pistons AND flat faced valves??? hoping nothing has to be taken off the block or head to make them flat, cause if so, u r looking at some serious compression...

isnt the b16 1st the same as the gsr? i could be wrong here, but i thought it was? jsut use the gsr LMA's, they have held up fine on my bc spec IV's, so i dont see a problem using them on your s2p2's...

as far as injectors, rc310's would be best, but really, u could get away with stock and bumped rail pressure im sure...

it being a 1.6 block is going to limit u IMHO when it comes to power, and those cams might be more than u really need, maybe look into the pro1's or mx22's...
