Default Air Compressor "situaition"

My garage has no 220 hookup, and it is only 1 circuit (yeah, the whole garage)

So after my 110v compressor was stolen, i got my hands on a 220v/5hp craftsman.

Long story short, will a 3/4hp 110v turn my craftsman pump that came with a 5hp 220v?

Do yourself a huge favor and run a 220 line from your box to the garage. Its really not that hard, I put one in mine a couple of years ago.

While you're at it, run a few more 110v lines too.

And no, that 3/4hp motor will not run that big compressor.

Run a dedicated 220 and if you're digging up run one more 110. Just make it a 20 amp. Those extra two plus the one you already have should be plenty to power an entire garage.....if you're not using all your power tools at once.
