Default My EG8 Thread (New version of thread)

Thought i'd start my thread over with more and better pics.

I figured it'd be fun to make my own thread about my car. It's not the nicest by far. But i still love it, and I think it's coming along fairly nicely for what it was when i got it.

car didn't look too beautiful when i first got it.

was missing molding and trim on both sides

and had that nasty tan interior. I decided to change the interior to black but since i'm working on a poor man's budget, i had to do it the cheapo way. Paint, dye, and lots of work. I started with the interior by just picking up a few minor things in the salvage yard. A dead pedal here, an arm rest there, a passenger side mirror around there, you know, just little stuff it needed. found my side moldings and all. Still haven't gotten the driver's side molding on though.

First thing I changed on the inside was the door panels.

I should have stopped at this point

but for some reason i though it'd be a good idea to go ahead and spray dye/paint the cloth as well

didn't turn out well, so i bought some grey vynil to replace the cloth with

Dyed the carpet black since I couldn't afford to buy new carpet and picked up some black generic floor mats (if anyone is selling oem sedan floor mats grey or black pm me) Pics of how carpet turned out to come later. it needs to be vacumed first.
So I picked up my centerconsole with the armrest, had to paint it black.

And figured while i had it out I'd throw in my x-mas present from my room mate, an apexi short shifter with a type R shift ****.
(pic of shortshifter here, can't find the pic now, gotta take a new one)

Just have crappy seat covers right now since my seats were a torn up, looking for something different (ferio seats, black or grey leather GSR seats maybe even cloth, RSX seats, probably not any racing seats but still pm me if anyone has a good deal on any of these things. Also looking for rear GSR seats, prefer black or grey leather, but even if you have cloth GSR or rear Ferio seats, let me know)

(insert pics of interior here)

So after tons of cleaning, lots of washing and waxing, the car starts to look better

the type s emblem stands for "TYPE SLOW" -joke with me and my room mates since i still got the stock motor.

And then after lots more buffing and washing and waxing, it finally starts to get a little shiny

Haven't really done much under the hood yet, my room mate gave me a short ram intake so it doesn't suffocate and I just picked up a header that i am waiting til i get the exhaust to bolt it on, mostly just tune ups on it so far since the guy who had it before me didn't really take care of it. NGK spark plugs, NGK wires, etc. The list is long and pointless.

Just picked up some new rims for it, got some ls rims for $200, they give the car a whole new look. So i threw on the rims.

Then I gave it a nice wash and wax, some shiny new tires for the rims, got my spoon mirrors on, and finally found a civic emblem for it, and painted my windshield wipers. Next weekend I want to get all the moldings a fresh coat of black paint and another buffing, wash and waxing. For now this is where the car stands.

Pretty soon I want to lower it about 2 inches, get some mudflaps (pm me if you have any), and a ferio wing (pm me if you have a good deal on a real one, already found an aftermarket one for cheap, but if you got a real one without the gap for a decent price, i'd rather have that) and finally an exhaust and muffler. That's pretty much it for the outside.

not yet, it looks gross, just a stock D15b7, some nifty red spark plug wires, and a generic intake. Nothing special. After I finish the outside I am going to start working on the engine bay, maybe paint the whole bay white or black, thinking white will show dirt and grease a lot so gonna go with black.

Thanks, I thought that too at first, soon as I get home I'll take some pics of the inside, it was a spray dye that i used for the doors and carpet. the first time it was horrible cause i didn't sand my door panels or anything. Amazingly enough the dye won't rub off on you, but unfortunately it fades a little faster. specifically the armrest. I pulled an armrest from the junkyard since i had the center console delete in, and painted it black, and the front right corner always rubs away because my arm is constantly on it. Pics of inside to come tonight though.

The red one? actually that's not my neighbor's. i just parked it in her driveway. 72 buick skylark GS clone. And the 05
TL behind it is my mom's. I always work on my car at her house since she has a garage and driveway and I live in an apartment.

New plans for my car on a budget:

Looking for a black type R rear lip, and maybe a front end mugen lip.
White EK side skirts ( figure it'd be cheaper than mugen sideskirts or somethin and still look good)
el cheapo seats from ebay probably (idc about brand really, just as long as they look decent)
have a no name i/h that I got for free so i was thinking about getting an exhaust, for right now I just have the stock engine and I'm ok with that for a while, any suggestions on that? please keep in mind I'm just looking for something that sounds and looks decent really, on a sohc d series motor, you're really not going to get extra power from an exhaust, so i just want it to sound ok.
want to get some lowering springs, about 2 inches lower, what kind are good to get? don't really want to spend more than $150 if i don't have to.
Any other suggestions you guys can give me?
