I am a honda technician myself and I can tell you for sure it is almost always more adventageous to put money into and fix and older car than get tied into payments or spend a lot on a new car, hondas last as long as you make them last pretty much. Check the compression if you know how and thats usually a good indicator. What does it need otherwise?

Take a look on EBAY for honda's similar to your and check some of the mileage on them, you'll be surprised, seems like if u keep up the regular work they dont ever stop.

even if the motor is going a new one is cheep. a d series if that is what you are running or pretty much any motor you want. The worst thing would be rust. So if the body is nice deff keep it.

I have 170K on my d16 but it's the auto tranny that gives me problems!!!! Why couldn't Honda make a reliable transmission and engine!

my last civic had a d16z6, 260,000 miles and still running strong when i sold it for the civic i have now. Which has a d16y7 with 210,000 miles on it as of now. Never had a problem except for a distributor going out on my first civic. they were both completely stock daily drivers.
