Hi guys I have a problem with my honda. I'm new here and I was hoping you guys might be able to help me...? I have an 85 honda civic crx si 1.5 liter, It had been sitting for a while but whenever I go to start it the rev limiter will go all the way to 5,000 rpms and rev up and down in between 4 to 5,000 rpms. it only does that if you give it gas...................????? so if anyone has any ideas what it could be please let me know. So when you start it the car it idles in between 4500-5000rpm's, have you let the car warm up this could be couse its been siting for awhile like you said, if it warms up and it still has a high idle you might have a throtle body problem or bad fuel injectors! what do you meen by only when you give it gas? you need to post in the civic forums this for all motor applications you will get more and acurate answers from there also try searching you can find lots of answers without posting and waiting for replys good luck
