Just like he said, it is not worth it, ac is the one thing that I will never go without in a car. Keep the ac

200.00 dollars, how long did it take to sell? I'm thinking about pulling and selling mine too.

Well, if you live anywhere else besides Wisconsin then it's not worth it to me. Sweating all the time gets old quick.

I ripped out every piece of A/C unit, and line...its not all that heavy... maybe more than 20, but less than 50 for sure.

Probably about 35-45lbs. All the lines are made of lightweight aluminum. The heaviest piece is the compressor....

not only do you get the weight reduction from taking out the ac, but youll get more power to the motor because of one less pulley, take it out if you want to be fast...

Or you could just pull the belts off the PS and AC (if i still had it), like i do....

i wouldn't do it
45 LBS, what can it do to ur speed??
0.0005 seconds faster??

unless u are dropping everything like seats, speakers, stereo, then i would do it
coz that will add up maybe to 100 to 200 lbs? then maybe u can be faster

good luck

drive safe

when I took mine out out --96 civic ex, it was alittle more than 40 pds, I weighted everything including the bolts (yes, lots of bolts) . evaporator in the dash was about 5 pds. sold all for 130.

as to how much weight reduction helps speed, on average, for every 60 pds you drop, you can expect 0.1 sec off your 1/4. So it is worth it in my opinion if you live in a colder climate. Think about it, a/c removal + dont eat for a week will get you .1 sec faster

My AC doesnt work anymore so I'm taking it out this weekend. It just stops working before summer time. Its just my luck. It won't make a very big impact performance of weight wise. you may lose around 45lbs and gain 1Hp from not having the extra pulley. The only thing I like about taking it out is all the extra room under the hood. It really cleans it up and leaves som extra room to work around in. Hope this helps.

well if u figure out the math, u can gain back decent power from weight reduction. it may not seem like much but if its a hatch u can gain 1 hp for every 23 lbs lost roughly.

Haha, you live in NEW YORK and you want to take out your A/C. Good luck man. I was in New Year last year in July and it was hot and humid.

I have one suggestion for you, if you still want to take out the A/C in Summer then do it. Don't contemplate about doing it when the weather is cold and wet

just do it your thinking about it too much. or dont its up to you i personaly have never owned a car with a/c and when i got my civic i used it for a few months and riped it out along with the ps and interior. or just get a swap an you wont have to worry so much about weight. in the end its up to you. but yea eji is a heavy tank the heaviest of the 92-95

to figure out what it would be u take the gross weight of the vehicle and divide it buy the hp of the motor and will tell u how many lbs per hp.

u can do the same for tq.

Another reason I love my hatch. Yeah I am in the process of removing back seats. I got a DX so no ac already, but back seats and spare are going.

I would consider removing it if it were 3-400 lbs. 30 lbs? No way.
