Default I smell fuel with the new setup using Aeromotive fuel pump. Please help

Ok guys i need your help. After I installed this pump and removed the evap canister and plugged all the lines that goes into the canister I smell raw fuel when I close my garage for a few hours or overnight. I've checked everywhere for leaks and i don't see any. What could it be or is this normal. Right now, I"m using the stock fuel gas cap and I'm thinking of replacing it with the vented gas cap. Will this help? What should I do? thank you in advance.

Open the door and let it air out for a day. The fumes are in and on everything in there. It will take time to dissipate.

Don't change your gas cap.

I usually do that but when I close the garage, the smell comes back. You guys with fuel sump and an external pump, do you have this problem?

Has it gone away yet?

Check your return and feed lines at the tank as well as in the engine bay. Check your gas tank fuel pump cover gasket make sure it wasn't piched at install.

The line going to the canister is a vent line to let it soak up vapors while the vehicle is off and the fuel is evaporating overnight. It could be possible that you have a small leak like velocitytrends said. You may want to put a filter on it although like everyone else, I dont smell gas fumes but my line is not capped.

I have check the fittings from the pump all the way to the rail and back to the return line and to the rear where the fuel pump cover is. I've checked that gasket as well and seem to be fine. What else should I do?

Leave the car outside over night?

Is that possible ?

Do you smell gas while your driving?

No, it's not possible to leave my car outside. It'll be gone in the morning lol. I don't smell gas when I drive, only when it's parked in the garage.

HOLY MOLY man its about time. Man i have to get mine up now. LOL. Well All I can say is to check all your fittings, injectors, see if the injectors are puddling up on the manifold.

Is the pump on a relay still on a pump switch?

I'm using the Aeromotive pump controller and I have a by-pass switch for the pump and I also hooked it up to the stock relay (i.e) it turns on when I turn the key to acc. position. I have checked my fuel rail, injectors, fittings and I don't see/fell any gas/fuel that would be obvious. I will double check again this weekend to see if I can locate the problem. thanks for everyone's advice and please keep it coming. thanks guys.

If you think it's leaking. Lay a piece of cardboard under the car and see if there's a spot in the morning.

What fuel hose are you using? I've noticed some of the black nylon braided hose smells like fuel even when there are no leaks.

Earl's Performance Pro-Lite 350 Hose
Hose, Pro-Lite 350, Braided Nylon, - is what I"m using for feed and return.
