Default AEM true power pulleys

Ok, ive serched and havent gotten the answere i really want, so here goes, i have an 03 civic LX, and i want to install the AEM true power pulley set on it, first off i wanted to know if they will fit on my car because the stock pulley is really close to the hood of the car and the AEM ones are reasonably larger no? and second, are they hard to install, are they a hasle to deal with, and do i need a high output alternator, has anyone who has my kind of civic ever done this to their car? much thanks

You can get them to fit, but don't expect more than 1-3whp gain at best.

Im not expecting much from what i read around here D17 are the most hated of all the hated engines when it comes to getting power out of it, im just wondering if i need to modify things around the pulley area or would i have to trim the hood down a little?

^ I resent that! Nah jk, but seriously, I don't hate my engine. My eyes have been opened by some people whom are able to extract 300 and 400 PLUS Horse from the D17.

Anyways, don't know really anything about the pulleys, besides I want em.

Those pulleys are known to cause problems I hear. They make your alternator work harder than it should, resulting in its failure eventually. Upgrading it wouldn't be a bad idea..

as far as the alternator thing goes, from what i read >.>, not an expert here, but the pulley turns slower therefor making the alternator not as powerfull i gues, but as long as you dont really have a lot of big accessories like a big sound system you should be fine.

Only the ex comes vtec. I have the pulleys also and they are mostly for the look, you would get more power by just getting rid of p.s and ac than with these pulleys. I saw no difference with the alternator and i have a 1000w rockford amp and sub. As for putting them on, its pretty easy, if you know how to change your belts you can change the pulleys.
