Sorry if this is the wrong section, I just wanted to make sure if these are brand new or not. From what I can see there aren't any score marks.

 

looks like some kind of rust prevention coating the apply before they pack and ship them out....looks fine to me......they have to be cleaned before installation obviously.

They look like all the ones I've bought.Like was already said,it's rust preventative.

 

Where did you get them from..... did you get them from a dealer or an individual/ebay?

The inside walls of the sleeves should not be finished smooth or honed. They should have a rough evenly spaced ringed texture to them when they are brand new. Mine didn't come drenched in anything that looks like dirty oil either. Mine where rapped in that wax paper and seem to be coated in an almost wax like rust inhibitor not a motor or gear oil.

As long as the cylinder walls aren't scratched or finished and there isn't any rust on them they are as good as new.
