suspension question?
I know most of you are going to think this is a stupid question but i dont know and i want to know so im gonna ask it anyway. Are honda civic coils the same diameter as accord coils? reason i ask is because im trying to get my car lowered cheaply for now and a friend of mine has cut civic coils that were done right and i was gonna throw them on my car for now since i have a 6 inch gap between my 17" rims and my wheel well and cant afford adjustable coilsprings or lowering springs right now. Any help would be appreciated. if they wont work i can go buy coils at the junk yard and get them cut but this would just be cheaper.
i dont like being ghetto, but as i said i dont have the cash right now and the car looks like crap with the gap, and since my wife and i just had a baby boy i got to do what i got to do until i can afford lowering springs or adjustable coils.
In my opinion, no cut spring is "done right". It will ride like crap. I'm not sure about civic and accord springs being the same diameter or whatever. I doubt it though since they are two different cars. I could be wrong. Keep in mind that if you lower too low on stock struts they are going to go out and there's more money you will have to spend. If it was me, I'd wait till I had the money and do it right so I wouldn't end up spending more in the first place.
good point, i just hate how it looks right now i mean it looks good, but i dont like the gap at all. my friend has two coils cut off his and its been like that for years, and so far no problems, but i understand how it could happen. I will keep all of that in mind.
i agree they would be, but it may be a risk im willing to take since when i get the money im going to get a full coil kit with new struts. we will see though..lol
