After starting up my car, when I turn the first couple of times, I get this random screeching sound. It only last for 1-2 seconds then it's gone.

Does anyone have any ideas? I'm hoping it's just the drive belts.

 

Yeap, it is one of the belts. Had the same problem, except mine lasted longer then went away.

I need to replace all of the drive belts anyways. Thanks for the info. I checked the CV boots last week and all looked fine.

Whenever i downshift my belt screeches a little.

Yea whenever I engage the powersteering.

I still think its the belts, but is your power steering fluid at the right level?

It sounds nothing like that. It's just a short screech every now and again. Not a prolonged squeal.

 

Well, i wasn't asking if it was that long, just if it sounded like that.

I'd say it's more of a chirp compared to that. It's not long enough to hear more than a quick squeak from the engine bay.

 

I'm now leaning towards something in the front left wheel.

Almost sounds like a bearing. Maybe the brake is dragging?

Once the car has been running for a bit, it goes away. Only happens at low speeds while accelerating or decelerating.
