Default How much would you pay for this machine... (I would be the seller)

The list of modifications is long:

1999 Honda Civic EX Sedan

From the ground up, Motegi 17" wheels, Kuhmo tires, AEM Big Brake Kit on the Front as well as an extra brand new set, KYB AGX Shcoks, Tein Springs, New Bushings All over, Aluminum Rear Lower Control Arms(red), ASR subframe brace(red), New Trailing Arm Busings. Skjunks 2 Front and Rear Camber Kits(not the cheao ones) Megan Axle back exhaust, Front and Rear Type R lips, Panasonic Navigation Head Unit (4 Months Old Retail $1400) Sirius Satellite Radio. Front and Rear Sony Xplod Speakers. Eclipse 12" Sub With Eclipse Amp. Monster Cable Throughout. Tenzo R Racing Seats Black, 4 Point Harnesses Sparco. Type R Gauge Cluster (the real Deal) Passenger Side air bag removed and replaced with Airbag tray(air bag is included) 5% Tint. Front and rear bumpers were professionally refinished due to rock chips and such they do match perfectly. VIS Carbon Fiber OEM hood. Rear Emblem is Honda OEM Badging from Japan.

Now for the engine... D16Y8 VTEC obviously, Automatic, MSD SCI Ignition with external coil, Nology Hot wires, Warlboro Fuel Pump, AEM Fuel Filter Steel Braided Fuel Line to Fuel Rail. AEM Fuel Rail, AEM Pulleys, AEM Cam Gear, Samco Radiator hoses, ZEN Wet Nitrous System, 55 Shot, with bottle heater. This car does not smoke at all and I always use premium 92 Octane. It runs really good and has a the typical idle problem I hear so often about, but have yet to fix it. There is a small crease about 1 inch in the driver side front fender and was quoted to be $200 to fix. The oil is changed frequently, with Castrol Syntec. Everything Done on this car is done right, no cheap ghetto fixes and no cheap parts except for the muffler... However it sounds good and NOT ricey.

The reason I am contemplating on selling this is to purchase and 08 Si Coupe. White of course :D with the same style and care put into this one. I do not have this car officially up for sale yet, however with all the work put into I would probably be asking no more than 3 grand over book. So I am thinking about 9500 to 10 which probably for most is on the high side. But thats why I am here, whats it worth to you?

Theres not a whole lot that stands out with this car. You mostly bought an array of little things here and there. I would put it back to stock and sell it. Because you won't get the money back for all that aftermarket stuff.

If you took off the crappy replica lip, ricer tail lights, exhaust, head lights, wheels and put the oem components back on.. I would offer you 4-6k.

Without the tail lights wheels and lips. POSSIBLY $4k but with all that I wouldn't even give it a second glance. You'll never get 9-10K even if it had a K swap! Just my opinion.

Opinions not criticism is what I came here for, simple numbers would be fine. I have had past offers on the car upwards of 7500 to 8. So stop the sh*t talkin its not going to help anyone much, seems more and more a very good site for information is becoming a breeding ground for haters.

I'd offer 3.5k as is. I'd have to take the time to de-rice it and get oem parts to return it to normal. Even then, it's still an automatic

LoL! Geo Metros are going for $7000+ around here (Phoenix metro) because of gas prices!

The same applies to CiViCs...

A '99-'00 sh!tbox CiViC goes for $4000-$5000 these days - DX/EX/LX/VP - makes no difference!

A nice, clean, '99-'00 CiViC sedan stocker goes for $6000-$9000...

A perfect '99-'00 Si will bring $10000-$11000

Cars with all that gingerbread you got bring about the same...

Soooo... I don't how it is where you live, but around here you could probably get $9000-$10500 without a lot of trouble.

Everyone is paranoid, you know? Mileage (odometer & fuel economy) matters more than all that gingerbread...

Yes n' no...

It's true that he'll never get his money back - but that's the nature of these things.

When you mod a car... its like throwing $100 bills out the window - you'll never see it again. You do it for yourself NOT as an investment in your car!

All that stuff *might* help sell the car - but then again - it *might* keep someone from buying it.

All depends on the buyer...

I know why we mod our cars. Trust me, mine is nowhere near stock. But I would never sell it with all my mods on it. I would put it back to stock and sell it, because I will never get the money back that I put into it. I would make a lot more by selling it piece by piece.

And, yeah you are right. If a kid or ricer or whatever comes around and likes all those parts, it might help sell the car. But it will not help raise the price that it goes for. I get what you are saying, but do you get what I am saying? Whether or not the buyer thinks the parts are cool, he will not pay more for it because of those parts. Or atleast he shouldn't.

I'm with ya, bro!

I just figured the OP was in a hurry to get into his new ride.

Deconstructing his old CiViC will take a while...

honestly if you had offers for 7500 or higher you should take it and run! or take off things like the nitrous, ignition setup, asr subframe brace, camber kits, ctr cluster, seats/harnesses out and try and sell it for like 7 or 8k, oh and put the airbag back in, atleast make it presentable if you want a wider array or people to be interested, probably take off the lips too,

things like wheels and being lowerd is fine but alot of people dont want cheap racing seats with harnesses and an ignition setup in an automatc sedan,

good luck with your sale
