Default Flywheel bolts all loose

I removed the tranny the other day and took the pressure plate, clutch off and i saw that the flywheel was almost completely unbolted. Al the bolts were just about to fall off, is there any reason why this would happen. A shop had installed my motor about a year and a half ago so i was just wondering if any of you guys had experienced something like this? Im going to get the flywheel and pressure plate resurfaced, the clutch still looks good so im uncertain wheather i should buy just the disc. Its a ACT heavy duty pressure plate with a organic disc and stock flywheel and the throw out bearing is in good condition. Oh lol the motor is a 96 JDM H22a in a 93 accord.

Sounds like the shop you took it to did a half assed job. Either they didn't put a touch of Loctite on the bolts or hand tightened them and forgot to put the wrench to them. I spoke to someone at ACT when I bought my Xtreme PP about the service life of the plate and they said under daily driving/mild spirited driving the PP should last 2-3 clutch discs. It really depends on how much cheddar you want to drop for the car. Personally I don't like resurfacing flywheels or pressure plates cause I don't want to find out after they get the car together that now I have chatter cause someone wasn't having a good day while working with the lathe. I'd get a new flywheel and disc and call it a day.

Agreed. Flywheel bolts are a major pain to get off with red LocTite and the proper amount of torque.

Did you have the OEM flywheel bolts or ARP? I had the same thing happen to me a couple of years ago.

I would have to agree with the other posts. In my case the ARP bolts were longer then the stock ones.

When this happened i was driving and i wasn't able to shift into gear at all, I just wanted to ask; if it was because the bolts were loose and or cause the clutch couldn't clamp right

Yes, if the flywheel is/was loose it would prevent your clutch from working correctly.
