Default recharging AC

I know the process on recharging refrigerant into a unit. My only question is, How much refrigerant do you put in?
If completely vaccumed. I know they sell 8oz and 12oz cans of R134a.
I'm planning on doing this weekend. Thanks.
Oh 94 LS Sedan.

Look in your engine bay, there should be a sticker that says how many ounces of freon your system holds If not, make sure you use a manifold with a gauge to install the freon, and don't go above the recommended PSI on the low side. I usually charge up to about 35-40 PSI, it depends on how hot the environment is at the time.

does anyone know which valve is the high side and the low side? there's one right behind the ac fan motor and another kinda behind the driver side headlight. i'm guessing the one behind the fan is the low and the other is the high?'

Yup, remember, your a/c recharge hose should only fit on your low side fitting.
