Default __ DHutch's not-so-great upstate build up __

*Disclaimer*
This is by no means going to be some "baller" build thread. This is mostly for my own benefit, but there will be plenty of pictures and updates to come. With that being said, questions, suggestions, and any tips or pointers will be appreciated.

So after dailying the gsr for waaay too long, I finally have a '99 jimmy to beat around all day. It's not exactly all the rage at the gas pump, but it makes a nice beater. Photoshoot to come soon.

Anyway, here's what we're working with: (yes, *****'d out pic)

And yes, I'm not a huge fan of the tan interior either ... but I have plans for a custom headliner and door cards that might spice things up a little bit!

So I turned in the plates, hung the thing up in the garage, and started tearing **** out this week.

My plans are as follows: (but may change. alot.)

Remove ABS, power steering (and loop), AC, and cruise control
Fully tucked harness
si-vtec lip
Smoked stock corners (possibly tails?)
Shave and paint valve cover ... duhhh
Relocate odyssey battery under passenger seat with remote terminals on firewall
Relocate fusebox
powedercoat current wheels
new tires ... bfg g-force sport?
new lug nuts
Custom headliner and door cards
Spoon replica mirrors
Honda access rain visors
OEM mudguards
Buddy Club spec 2 exhaust w/ test pipe

There may be some things I'm forgetting, this is obviously just a brief overview. As far as a time line I would love to have most of this stuff done and see it back on the road this summer, but we'll see what happens.

I'm off to the garage ... first update coming later tonight

As promised!

I've been in tear-down mode for the past few days this week. So far I've ditched the entire AC system, cruise control, old battery, power steering pump and lines, and the ABS unit. Most of the harness is unplugged, and I'm almost prepared to pull it through the firewall. Oh ya, most of my interior is gone too. What a bitch!

A little teaser ... starting to look muuch better

My bucket of **** ... PM me if you need any PS/ABS/AC components! seriously I just need them out of my garage!

ABS wires ... pwned

Parts pile in the basement

My sidekick!

I've also looped the power steering rack ... but no pics yet!

Stay tuned for progress ... Part-ordering will commence soon!

Update central!

We've been at it for the past few days, and just about everything that has to come out of the engine bay is gone. The main engine harness and driver side harness are out and sitting in the basement waiting to be torn down and re-loomed. Brake lines are out, fusebox, yada yada.

I'll be gone for the next two weeks for work/vacation, so this is how she'll be sitting for the time being. Parts should start coming in about the time I get back, and I'll be tearing into the wiring under the dash more as well.

Enough talk, we all know Honda-tech is only about the pictures

Before we get any further ... the fridge.

And the contents (don't give me **** about the stones ... my money goes toward car parts right now!)

**** my life.

Kids, take note of the BFH.

Ric is excited by the feel of the virgin P72 ECU

Power steering looped

Enigne & driver's side harness' out.

Here's a progress pic of the bay so far ... please comment on how beat my VC is

Have a great weekend HT!

Finally time for an update!

I've been ordering a few parts here and there and some stuff has come in:

Summit really pulled through with the schwag

I also got my 40/40 prop valve in the mail and mounted it on the firewall. Thanks white94 No pics, but we've all seen one.

I went and dropped a lot of cash on brake tools today as well ...

Craftsman flare tool, baller imperial tubing bender, and mini tubing cutter. I didn't feel like ******* around with POS tools while doing my brakes

I also stopped by ASC Powdercoating in Albany today to have them take a look at my wheels ...

He threw one into the sandblaster to see how easily the paint would come off ... no turning back now

A before pic for reference ... I've got high expectations!

Some curbage to work out from the original owner

I've been slowly chipping away at the wiring; hopefully that will be completed soon!

I got some more goodies coming in the mail on Thursday!

OK guys sorry to leave you in the dark for so long ... I just started a new summer job that's eating up ALL of my time!

My wheels are at the powdercoaters as we speak and should be ready soon ... I finished up my brake lines and got some new lug nuts in the mail ... I'll post up some pics tonight or tomorrow b/c tuesday is my only day off

I also edited my goals up on the original post ^ due to time constraints, obstacles, changing my mind etc ... my hope now is to be able to drive the car for at least a week before I head back to school!
