Default Question about Catalytic Converter...

The other day I was under my rex, and I realized whom ever did the swap to this car did the typical cat hack job (Original openings welded to a larger flanges). So I imagine this is causing a huge amount of resistance since I have a 2.5" DC 4-1 Header and a RS-R Exhaust (Which I believe is like 2.38" or something like that). So I am going to buy a high flow car, but most of them come universal and you have to weld the flanges yourself, which I don't have the capability of (There are NO muffler shops around here except for Monro and those guys are NOT touching my car-they have f**ked up so much work around here).

So my question is does anyone know of a 2.5" Highflow cat that is already "Honda" built (Meaning it will bolt up with my DC 4-1 2.5" Flange and my RS-R Exhaust) without having to modify the cat?

I already have a RS-R for a Civic Hatchback that has a longer Midpipe than the CRX version so I am going to "adjust" the length on the exhaust end rather then lengthening the cat.

Thanks

you can use exhaust clamps but most likely there will be a leak somewhere when your finished...no friends of yours knows how to weld?

Couldn't you take the cat you have now in to the "Monro" people and tell them to weld up one that is the same length? That way they don't mess with your car, and it is their obligation to get the part correct if you are paying for it.

Otherwise, i would just be buying an ebay test pipe if it were me.. but i suppose you have emissions regulations in your area, unlike my area
