Engin Mount Question for EK's with B18C5 swaps
This question is regarding the rear mount. I got an energy bushing for the rear mount but I need to know if I need to change either the motor side bracket or the K-member side bracket.
I was told that I need to get a B16 99-00 Si rear motor side bracket and use my sock mount with the bushing changed. Is this true or can I use the bracket that is on the B18C5 motor the is for the DC chassis.
Thanks

three major mounts.
transmission - use the one that comes on the b18
rear - you need a 99si mount
drivers side - also 99 si

From what I understand, to put a bseries in a EK not originally equiped with a b series is...
The Bracket under the timing belt cover from a 99-00SI (bracket only, you can use your mounts(rubber))
The Rear Tranny Bracket from the 99-00SI - The big triangle shaped bracket that attaches to the tranny and then then rubber mount on the subframe. So you can retain that mount with the poly inserts.
Some kind of B-series A/C- If you want to keep A/C, there are specific ones you need to get. I believe 99 and newer eks can use the 99-00SI bracket and 96-98 can use the 95 DelSol bracket. This is only if you want to keep AC.

In addition...you might as well invest in stiffer motor mounts (especially the driver side mount) because it's only a matter of time before it tears. It might happen alot sooner than expected too, b18 = more torque = more engine movement.
"Belieeee dat!"

In response to my own post I guess I should have been more specific on the whole mount issue. You use the mount that is already attached to the engine but the bracket that attaches the mount to the car. Now that that is cleared up let me back up what Mario says about the stock EK mounts in the engine bay. PARTICULARLY the drivers side mount. "...Those (99-00 SI's) come back all the time for busted drivers side mounts...". This is coming from a friend of mine that works at honda. If the stock car comes back with busted mount problems thats not saying much for them at all. If you going through all the trouble of swapping, you might as well look into getting an insert or even better look into the HCP or HASPORT or whatever company that makes a new 'retro' mount. Its an old style mount that fits like the earlier integra civic mounts instead of sitting on a vertical mount like the new civics. HTH.
