Default LS crank to go into GSR. straight drop in?

just like the title says, i got a stock gsr motor, and i have an ls crank. assuming everything is great, and balanced, is it possible to drop in the ls crank, and attach the stock gsr rods, and everything without mods?

TIA

edit- forgot to ask, what's the best, better flowing b-series oem intake mani?

TY again

pretty sure u need the LS rod , instead of gsr rod to go along with the ls crank . other than that , get some plugs for the oil squirters and measure your bearings

and the OEM ITR manifold flows well

Correct. Plug the oil squirters and use ls rods with some P30 pistons or ITR or GSR.

Read this

Also, what head are you going to use? An OEM ITR mani. won't bolt up to a gsr head.

but i just looked it up and gsr rods are longer... 137.00mm = ls connecting rod, and 137.90mm = gsr connecting rod.

thats also why when i do this... http://www.zealautowerks.com/ the combo of the ls crank in the gsr, w/ ls rods gives me like a -1.0:1 compression ration LESS than just the gsr rods/block w/ ls crank.

You arent leaving yourself with much room between the piston and head if you run the gsr rods. Oh and your piston is also coming very close to over shooting the deck of the engine..........thats not a good thing.

Since you're already on zealautowerks, check out how the piston to deck height changes when you switch from rod to rod.

Also, remember to keep in mind the block should be decked and the head resurfaced, so that will also affect p2h and p2v clearances and CR a bit.

ok i got a twist to this one

dropping a rotating assembly from a ls into a p72 block, block squiters because the ls feeds oil from the rods.

what about putting a gsr assemble in a ls block? since the gsr feeds oil from the squiters, whats happens in a ls block?

true. you think a resurfacing would be enough to have p2v hitting?

This thread is hilarious.

ls rods and crank, p30 or itr pistons. Remove the oil squirters and plug the holes or bend them out of the way.

Nah ya see honda made the LS cranks smart, they know when a GSR rod has been bolted to them and they then shrink the journals so that you have proper side clearance on da rods.

first one? i went through the thread and it didnt help me very much since i got people telling me all kinds of things, so i dont know what to believe now!

second one, i got that in mind, i saw the piston to deck height, which is why i said i'll take it as a manditory rod swap.

i just cant find an answer to the oil squirter question
