Default 02-04 type S VS base stock exhaust systems

Anyone know if the Type s has a larger bore exhaust than the Base? Everywhere I look says theyre the same, but with different mufflers and possibly catylitics.

Any thoughts?

I know the 05+ are larger, not sure about the 02-04's.

A base exhaust and Type-S exhaust are not interchangable (b-pipe/header is different). You would need a muffler shop to customize the piping.

Otherwise I have no idea abolut diameter. It's not a popular mod as custom work is required to make them fit.

would the axle back fit? I know it wouldnt make much of a difference but my original muffler has a nasty dent!

Axle-back part should fit.

I'm guessing the midpipe is just as small on base RSXs as the EP3? Because people swap RSX-S only midpipes onto EP3s not just any RSX

The axle backs are interchangable for the base and S. The mid pipes are different sizes between the S and Base, but the Base and Si mid pipes are interchangable.
