you can go with teins, neuspeeds, or skunk2's, but the consensus is the best thing is ground control. Also if you're going to lower your car you need stiffer struts to handle the lowering, so you can go with combonations like tokico dspec struts, and some form of springs, or kyb's and springs, or koni's and springs. Also there is a spring install how to on the faq that will help you out alot if you want to install either of these parts.

I agree with em2power on the GC's. I looked, searched and read in between the lines. Koni Yellows and Ground Controls are probably the best all around.

I have an '01 and I called Ground Control. I think he told me it was $1100 -$1300.
That is Koni Yellow's and Ground Control Springs. Complete drop-in.

It really depends on what you are going to do with them. Is this going to be a daily driver or you want to race. If it's a daily driver, KY & GC is your ticket.

If you want to race, I can't help you.

Good luck!

thats fine, but if you lower the car on stock struts, they will blow, and your ride will blow, take it from me, i was lowered on neuspeed sports for a couple months before i could buy my dspecs, so i know, within a week of lowering they blow out, and it rides like crap! If you are going to lower your car and you dont want to spend outrageous amounts, i would advise going with something like tein or neuspeed non adjustable springs, and kyb's or perhaps tokico blues (hp), but if you want to ride well i would recomend something along the lines of ground control and tokico dspecs/koni yellow. And if you wanted to fork out the money hks full coilovers.

I know of people who have GC/Koni's on their cars and they both race on the track and autocross so i have no idea why you think GC/Koni's arent meant for track/racing use. Go look into the road racing/autocross forum and see how many people use em. and as for the konis being "drop in", your information yet again is false. you have to cut up the OEM strut before they "drop in". literally.

you arent the first to tell me that, i didnt mean that hks was better than koni and ground control, i just meant that they were more expensive to my understanding...

i rode DD on cut drop spring with 1/2 bump stops in my stock shocks for 1 1/2 years no probs and they, to this day arent blown. spring arent gonna get you low at all. 2" drop looks like nuthing unless you have like 17" wheels IMO. the debate it out on coils

^^^^ This is what happens if you drop your car with stock struts... and i hate to disagree, but 2 inch drop makes the car not look like a rallye car...seriously dude 2 inches makes a big difference than the stock height.

I agree. My first set-up was Skunk2 sport springs, not worth it. 1.5 is barely worth the work. My advise is do it right the first time, go with coilovers over sport springs and get nice struts because the oem will blow faster than you think

I wouldn't go that far. I'm still on the HKS's, bud. I had them rebuilt to match the new Swift springs, and with the Hotchkis front camber plates. Now I'm much happier with them, because they work like a charm. Of course, there's a little more money into them, then your average HKS's.
