So I was about to drive off to eugene yesterday, but the key wouldn't turn. This happens sometimes when the steering wheel is locked, but usually I can get it to turn by wiggling the steering wheel. Not this time. The steering wheel is in the deathlock from hell. I figured there must be a locking mechanism i could remove, so i popped off the steering wheel and blinker apparatus. The only problem is that I have no idea what I'm looking at. Does anyone know how to fix this?

do you have a spare key you can try it with? same thing happens to me sometimes, I still use the original key that came with the car new, but I also have a cheap walmart spare key that isnt worn down nearly as much, whenever the steering wheel locks, I just pop out my spare key and unlock it...

 

Yeah I've got a couple spares. I tried em both but no luck.
