man i bet that new type r block cost more than most of the builds here on ht. why not get a used gsr/ls/b20 block to sleeve and build? it would be more reliable and way stronger than a new type r block. or you could buy a dart block.

Custom header
3" exhaust
ported intake manifold
3" intake tuned length
Does the is head support 300cfm@28 in of h20 at .5" of lift? if not you won't have a chance to hit 220 whp.

Why do you think you need to rev to 9800 rpm? Your induction system (cams, manifold, header) won't make power that high.

this is why i asked...
Mike at T1 said I could rev that high but i would want to with the ls block... he said the type r block is gonna be a best of a setup for what im lookin for...
ive never fooled with n/a and it seem like u have to do alot to make small power

There is no place for it here, it is not productive, frequently leads to arguments, and is generally pointless. Go find a dyno or a drag strip.

Would the stock type r block be a bad choice for what im lookin for?</TD></TR></TABLE>
If your goal is to make usable power up to 9800 rpm, then yes a STOCK block is not the best choice.
The LS block would have been fine, with the right parts and machine work. Looks like Mike cashed in on you. How much did that setup cost you?

i rev my ls/vtec to 9k there is 10k miles on build and no problems i would rev higher but my cams wont make powerto that high so aint no reason to push your motor to so high of rpms if no power is made just my .02
