competition clutch twin disc
Anybody running a CC twin disc? Just want some input on the longevity of the set up. I recently pulled mine out for inspection because of some problems and I found the flywheel, and both steel discs have major hot spots.
the only problem i have is trying to get used to driving one on the street
although i understand they can take a toll on the thrust brearings if they arent set up properly.

Thanks, I saw on your website that you are a CC dealer. What is your experience with having a twin disc set up sent to be rebuilt? Have you sent any at all? If so what kind of condition was the clutch in? Thanks again.

I would measure the thickness of both clutch discs, inspect the steel rings, pressure plate and flywheel (if you have one) then contact Chris H. at CC and give him the measurements, before you install it. After that installation is pretty straight forward.
There is no problem with sending it in for inspection. They will check it out and recommend what you need. You can service individual parts also in the kit.
i sent in mine for inspection and now i have to pay full price to get it fixed lol... it [freak]ed up my thrust washers due to no pedal stop.. to much throw.. i highly recomend either adjusting your pedal to minimal throw, or using a pedal stop..

I agree. I had a stage 4 CC in my hatch until it broke. Now I have the CC twin and I like it.

ive had mine for a couple of years now, never had a pedal stop on it and never any problems with thrust bearings and anything else. You can take the floater plates to a belt sander, ive done that before, CC will tell you the minimum thickness that they can be.
twin disks are awesome for the street.. cc designed theirs to let you get a bit of slip, which ive driven an ats unit, and i hated it. be care full tho, some of the ones with the older pp, it will knock your thrust washers out, and mess all kinds of stuff up..
