Do you ever ride Squid?
I used to wear my full leathers all the time: helmet, gloves, boots, jacket, pants.
Now once in awhile if its really hot Ill just wear camo pants, boots, gloves, helmet, t-shirt. I'm pretty paranoid when riding like that, but it can be convenient aswell.
If Im gonna be riding spirited, i will always gear up. Still, I dont like the fact that I might be getting into the habit of wearing gear less often.
How often do you guys ride squid, and how do you justify your t-shirt n jeans vs. full leather.
flame on son.

no flame...its your life. your choice. (kinda like being a poof....)
-as for myself.....never shorts/never bare chested. helmet/gloves at least. hell, i go to the clubs/bars sometimes on my bike. i ride to work sometimes, jacket/tie/dress shoes....i have full comp insurance, health/dental and complete confidence in my abilities. i'm also quite secure and comfortable with death/dying....

I guess it depends on what some consider squid. Some thinks you must wear leather pants and riding boots, some say just any kind of pants and work boots.
For me, I usually wear helmet, gloves and pants. Anytime that im going on hwys or on a trip longer then 10 min around town I will usually wear leather jacket as well with riding boots.
So, yea im part squid, gear can only do so much when you smack into a tree or semi anyways. If its your time to meet your maker, it doesn't matter what you have on.

Helmet, jacket, gloves, riding shoes/boots and jeans at a minimum... more often than not add textile over pants to the list. As mentioned, I dress for the accident not for the ride. If it is too hot for me to ride in my gear, it is too hot for me to ride.
There are people who do not gear up for rides, and that is their choice. My friend was called (and I quote) "A gear-wearing [pejorative]" by a couple of non-gear wearing indiviguals reportedly riding late model Suzuki sportbikes. Just because we choose to gear up and they don't isn't grouds for name calling.

Most lunch breaks and some quick bursts in town, whatever, be it shorts, tshirt, chimichanga in the tank bag, etc. I know the consequences and accept the risk.
Can't decide which topcase I'm gonna get

Short distance maybe 1-3 miles at most i will wear just a shirt, jeans, gloves, and helmet when it's hot. If i have to take the freeway i always wear all gear.

Unless I'm just doing a test ride up and down my driveway, I always have my full face helmet, textile jacket, gloves and long jeans minimum - even to the gas station 1 mile away.
Falling on asphalt hurts. A lot. Even at 20mph. Especially with a 460lb bike on top of you.
I really should wear my riding pants and boots more often. Last time I crashed (30mph highside), my jeans ripped open instantly on contact with the ground and I twisted my ankle pretty good.

Helmet, gloves, jeans. I have riding boots but don't wear them. I wear a leather jacket in cooler conditions.
I am a "squid" rider, but I'm not naive enough to know nothing will happen. I know it will happen eventually. But for the time being, I want to ride comfortable.

99% of the time, I rock my helmet, leather jacket, gloves and boots. If it's a quick trip to lunch and it's hot out, I may forgo the jacket.
Although squidding it makes me a bit paranoid...it sh0 feel g00t on a hawt day!

When you guys say jeans do you mean Levis or something like them?
or do you mean the Kevlar reinforced jeans made by motorcycle apparel manufactures? I've been thinking about buying a pair of the reinforced jeans to wear to the MFS course.
