Default integra gsr 280k!! should i buy?

so this 60 year old lady daily drives a 94 gsr w/ 280k on it and is the second owner.the first owner owned it for 13 years and took it to one mechanic which she bought it from because it was her mechanic too. i mean it was maintained well and probably has never hit vtec unless this granny has a lead foot. they want 2500 but do you guys think it would be dumb to buy it? i mean i wont pay more than 2k probably. any feedback would be nice. thanks

I'd buy it if the body is clean with no rust, and swap out for a lower mileage jdm motor, or do a complete rebuild.

I bet if you brought 1,700 bucks they would take it if it was cash, and take the other 800 and do a piston swap, and some more rebuiling, probably gunna spend alot on the rebuild depending on what kind or pistons you go with, but a cheap way to get power is some high compression pistons instead of a turbo, cause not everyone can afford a turbo kit, i know thats what im gunna do, untill the motor go's, and i bore it out and do low compression and a t70, but untill then ALL MOTOR BABY, buy get it, and race me in New Hampshire after, lol, and P.s. if that trannys got lsd and you dont want ill buy it off you PM me if you want to sell it

well i figure i could do a compression test and if the motor has decent compression ill just stick with it. I'm a broke college student so i dont have the money for a jdm b18c swap...there is no rust just the clear coat is gone on the trunk. but i would definitely have to put new suspension on it and just hope the motor would last. any other suggestions?

If everything is in good condition why not? Yea I agree take straight cash to her and she probably will accept less than $2500.

they are probably all highway miles so the engine is more than likely perfectly fine. Um by the way its a honda. If you do regular maintenance that engine should go another 100K.

you wont find a price like that for that car in my area...even if it does have 280k. buy it, buy a low mile JDM motor, then sell the stock gsr and get your money back (or beat the **** out of it)

no matter how much you pay. not just the engine has 280k, the body does too and so do all the little bushings, etc... just keep that in mind.

I bought my 4 door ls-s with 182k on it for 2000, I am the second owner and this car is is awesome shape other than a few scratches here and there. The people I got it from were older and used it to go on alot of vacations and what not so the motor is in decent shape.
I'm getting ready to rebuild the motor for lsvtec, just bought a rebuild kit so it will be good to go.

Like everyone said if the body is straight and no rust buy it!!

i'd buy it... a two owner well taken care of car, granted it's on the east coast as long as it's not a rust bucket i'd swoop it up in a heart beat do a compression check on the motor, quick tune-up and get underneath the chassis and check out floor pans and all than start the "de-flowering" process of it

No way!
-Needs engine rebuild soon if not already
-Bushings(need I say more)

Why not just buy a shell for all this and swap in a motor? If you have $2000 you could get a nice shell for $600-800 and take it from there.

I'd swoop on that sh*t in a heartbeat if it was cosmetically clean. If the motor still runs strong (assuming you test drove it) get it and sit on it until you save up enough money to swap/rebuild. I bought my 94LSV for $2500 and it had 275K on the ODO. Runs like a champ tho.

I'm sure you can talk her down a lil bit, but don't be a cheapskate about it. Like Brice said, she's an old lady for Gods sake. haha

Why the hell would you wanna low ball an old lady? She's old, and the car is cheap as hell already. You must be those dipshits that take advantage of old people.

Agreed. No respect anymore. Maybe you can offer her a Pyramid Scheme while you are at it. Maybe some phony life insurance?

lmfao, no but seriously, man i say go for it the car is probably as mint as it can get if its an older lady not beating on it daily, you can always try to talk her down man, i paid 2200 for my 96 gsr w/ 170k, i say go for it even if she doesnt sell for less you can always swap and rebuild, either way gl.
