Default About the halfway point of the MotoGP season.

Who's been the biggest surprise? Biggest disappointment?

Biggest surprise:

individual - CE. Absolutely blazing in QPs, and starting to finish better in the last 4 races. honorable mention: Dovizioso.

team - Tech3 Yamaha. They're giving their riders a chance. Every race.

Biggest disappointments:

individual - 3-way tie - Melandri, Elias, Hopkins. Yeah, they're all hurt. But still. Last year's Honda boys just can't get their Ducatis dialed in.

team - Kawasaki, hands down. I had high hopes for this team, they were getting really fast last year. Ant West, ok, not an "A" rated rider, but he sure isn't a caboose, either. He was nice at Donington, a wsbk venue (right?).

2nd half the season -

I don't think Pedrosa's got the *****. But Rossi does. I think it's going to be a Stoner/Rossi battle. If Pedrosa can win w/o having to pull away from the pack, he'll have a chance. Don't sleep on Lorenzo and Edwards (and now Hayden-fingers crossed), they'll play a role in how the top 3 will play out.
I think Dovizioso will get a couple of podiums this year. He'll learn how to finish out races. Definitely my favorite rook, being that he was my favorite 250 rider last yr.

CE's usually good for a top 5. Just take your pick - 4th or 5th. lol

This is atmost for another race; until Capirossi comes back. Spies is getting good seat time testing, though. Who knows about next year.

Hmm... I have a different take on things....

Biggest disappointment: Melandri, Hayden, and Toesland, and Kawasaki GP!

They were winners and now they are losers! Toesland should hurry up and get back to WSBK if he wants to save his name!

I still have not figured out why Kawasaki does not hire a Proven GP winner to help develop and get that bike on the Box. You can't hire a couple Mid Pack Kids to help get that bike up front!

Biggest Surprise: Lorenzo and Dovi! They both show promise and I think Dovi is going to be sick on the Repsol ride next season!

I am not surprised that Pedrosa, Rossi, and Stoner are the leaders! I have a feeling Stoner is going to win it all!

These are the burning Questions???

Who will Replace Melandri? Where is Hayden Going? Is Spies going to Suzuki? WTF is Kawasaki going to do?

Eric

Kawasaki may have a big budget, but the package just isnt there.... Hopkins *can* develop a bike, but it takes a good crew to keep the chain on and the damn bike running to the end of the race. I'd be surprised if West is around next year.....

Hayden should leave Honda for Ducati the first chance he gets -- they obviously show favortism towards pedrobot...

I'm afraid if Hayden goes to Ducati, that he'll only be there for one year...or whenever Rossi decides to leave Yamaha.

Toseland isn't a loser, I think he's doing quite all right. rainman, you shouldn't be surprised with Lorenzo, he killed everyone in 250 last year; expectations were high. Dovisioso is accustomed to doing the best he can on a sub-par bike, and doing it well. Yay for Andrea.

I've been especially disappointed with Nicky this year. Especially after this last race. He seemed so excited to get the new motor and wasn't to do much with it.

Yo bro take it easy he's no rossi. Takes time for a mere mortal to dial in a completely new motor and chassis. The bike is much better right off the trailer and leads me to believe that Mr. consistency will be returning to the podium on a regular basis. As far as where Nicky will be riding next year I don't know if I would count him out of that factory seat just yet. Pedrosa may not be able to ride the new honda like Nicky what a shocker that would be HMMMM>..... Stay tuned
