Car shaking WTF??
Ok guys here's my problem. 2 days ago I noticed that my car would shake when I would accelarate. This shaking is more than the normal shaking I experiece with the B16 in my Rex. It's more violent and feels like it goes side to side. Now here's the tricky part. It doesn't happen all the time and also once I take my foot off the gas it stops??? Does anyone know what it could be? I just got the swap done about 3 weeks ago also.
Any clues would really be helpful.
Thanks.

Motor mounts broken maybe? Upon acceleration the torque throws the engine out of whack and out of balance, the crank and other internals jostle around. Upon deceleration, the torque goes away and the engine reverts back to the standard position. Check the tranny mounts while you are at it.
Yeah, the shop that did it said that too. He said that the mounts may of come lose from the normal vibration the B16 in a Rex gives you. I'm taking it to him later today to get it looked at.
Thanks for the info.

is there any way to tell when there is a broken axle or wich one of the axles is broke while they are on the car still??? and i dont mean the boots...
vibration on acceleration is usually inner CV joint going bad....doesn't have to have torn boot or anything that you can see externally....no easy way to tell which one....and yes it should primarily vibtrate on accel but be ok when cruising or decell.
i get a little bit of vibrating when accel, and when i brake i get vibration, and the brakes were recently changed so i doubt its the rotors...

I'm not to sure but it might be your motor mount. I don't know to much about cars (that is why I am on this board). I know a fair deal with cars though. But i would get the motor mounts checked.
yah i had d same problem with my EF hybrid. it would shake during heavy acceleration and shakes even worst wen im turning right. there was nuthin wrong with da mounts, so what i did was, i took my lowered springs off and put in my original springs on. went for a test drive and da vibration is gone. so i figured it was my axles. it was a tad long on one side and it was bottoming out. so i got it fixed at a CV/axle shop and after dat i lowererd da EF again. luckily everthing was all good.

Hey guys, I got it checked out by the guy who did the swap and he said that 2 bolts had come lose on the crossmember and that's it. He tightened those up and the vibration is gone. Like someone said earlier, it was throwing the balance off.
Oh also one of my axles is going bad, and that could of made the shaking even worse. But I'll tackle that this weekend.
Thanks for all the info guys.
