a/c sucks on 95 accord please help
my 95 accord air conditioner works terrible. I tried to recharge it with 2 cans of the cheap R134 after completly emptying out the system., however still sucks. I am not leaking any freon because it stays full.
How many cans should this car take?
Is it better to use the synthetic stuff?
should I fill by liquid or gas holding can upright or upside down.
I have made several attempts to get this ac as cold as my other 94 accord but no success.
please help

Did you have the system vacuumed? This is the issue with a lot of people refilling themselves. You might also wanna check the pressure on the lines to make sure your compressor is working right.
You car should take probably about a pound and a half of freon. I dont think hondas have them but see if your car has an ( Orifice Tube ) its like a AC Filter. If it doesnt you could also have a bad Expansion Valve. But yeah check pressures on system make shure compressor is working as it should first.
If the AC presure is right, try this:
Turn the Heater Valve all way to close postion by hand (move the Heater Valve Arm forward). Open the hood, the valve is on the passenger side close to firewall. It is a design defect for 5th gen that the valve on some cars can not be closed.

I am just noticing this also on my 1996 Accord 2.2l
THe AC was charged , by with a can and it still blows barely cool air.
I know Hondas as a whole from this era suck in the AC dept. (this is maybe because i am coming from GM air conditioned cars that blow FREEEEZING cold) but this really sucks.
I just going to send it in to a shop to have done. For some reason refilling myself never seems to produce the amount of cooling i used to have

Yeah, i know what you mean when you say honda's suck on the ac department. I'm used to a GM air conditioning and i bought a 94 honda and it doesn't compare to GM air conditioning. I've recharged mine with the proper ac machines and thats just the way honda's ac runs. You just have to live with it.
so when you say cold ac do you guys mean, cold to the point where you're still sweating in the car?
Anyways I'm guessing you guys are recommending to take the car in and get it recharged eh? wheres the heater valve?

Open the hood, from the passenger side, look down close to the firewall. Under the intake body, you can see two hoses leading to the firewall. The valve is in the one of the hoses and is connected with a cable. Move the Valve Arm all the way close (forward) . You should be able to feel the difference.
