missed factory scheduled maintenance
Crap, I forgot to go in for the factory scheduled maintenance when my car hit 15,000, it probably has over 18,000 now. How bad is this situation? Is my warranty void? Afraid to call the dealer and find out my car is no long under any warranty
Lolz how do you forget for 3,000 miles? anyway you did get an oil change at least in that time right? you should be OK...
if something catastrophic happens to your motor they MIGHT hold this against you.. but they would also have to prove that that was the cause of the failure.. just go get it done or better yet... get a manual and do it yourself... my car has over 100K miles and has been reliable as hell so I don't think you have much to worry about.. I did all the maintenance on it.. my car hasn't seen the dealer much in its lifetime lolz..

I change oil every 3000 miles, just didn't remember/know about the stupid maintanance.
How can you do it yourself? Isn't this maintenance required by honda?
I have no idea, but what exactly do they do at this maintenance, clean my engine for me?
how much $$$?

when my dealer sends me those service coupons, service reminders.. I usually keep them all in one big stack.. then next time I need to do maintenance MYSELF I take one of those fliers up to the garage and use it as a checklist.. NO WAY am I paying them like $150 to do the 15K maintenace... basically the only stuff that is changed/performed is 1) oil and filter change, 2) tire rotation, check air 3) valve adjustment, 4) top off/fill fluids that are low.... all the other items are check this, inspect that, etc...
hmm anyone that has a decent set of tools and the know how can perform this maintenance.. my car hasn't seen the dealer (or any mechanic) in a long long time... I don't think they would care as long as you use OEM or OEM approved parts and you have the receipts to prove it in the event something happens to your motor and you need to claim warranty... but I seriously doubt anything will happen to your motor as mine has 100K+ and its been reliable (even now)...
the dealer would charge like $150 to do this.. to do it yourself
oil - regular dino oil ~$5.... synthetic ~$20
filter - approx $6
tire rotation ~$0
air for tire ~$0
valve cover ~$20
honda bond/valve cover sealant ~$5
this of course assumes you have the tools, manual AND KNOW HOW to perform all this.. if you don't, or are really clumsy or something.. then maybe you should take it into the dealer but its not a hard procedure for most people..
