ZC pistons in d16a6
Thinkin about bumping my compression up a little bit. Whats this I hear about zc pistions in a d16a6 block with z6 vtec head giving you 12:1 compression? Im getting my vtec head here soon and my friend mentioned something about this. If anyone has messed with this let me know about it

EDIT: sorry, should say 8.43:1

So that would lower your compression? If Im not mistaken d16a6 has a comp of 9.1:1. Adding the ZC pistons it lowers it to 8.4:1 but add the vtec head and jumps you up to 12:1. Could somone please explain how to calculate compression ratios?
na, your a little mixed up. ZC pistons are domed, they raise compression quite a bit. Then the z6 head has a smaller chamber than the A6 so this would also up your compression. Also running the 92 or newer head gasket would give it another little bump in compression. Yeah it's a safe setup w/tuning. If you just throw it together and run it on stock ecu you will be predetonating everywhere even with good gas. Try this handy little tool...
