i would like to know where is the thermostat located on my del sol.. have ad16z6 engine manual tranny.. and having overheat problems please really need your help..

 

Follow the lower radiator hose to the neck on the block. Two bolts, comes off. Thermostat is behind that.

Best way to figure out if that's your problem is to let the car heat up. If the lower rad hose never gets hot the thermostat is your problem. Also make sure the fan comes on, etc.

 

Yup, on the end of the lower hose, behind the distributor, don't forget to unplug the temperature sensor or you will break it. Make sure you put the new gasket on correctly, it's a weird shape.

You can't put it on wrong, well... I suppose you can if you really try but it's not easy. The gasket has a tab that will fit into a slot on the thermostat so it's pretty straight forward.
